My review
Steve Cavanagh is back with the tenth installment in the Eddie Flynn series, One of Us Is Guilty, and I couldn’t wait to see what Eddie was getting himself into this time. Cavanagh is one of the most consistently entertaining authors I read, and once again he delivers everything I’ve come to expect. Sharp wit, courtroom drama, clever twists, and a story that’s nearly impossible to put down. Another fantastic addition to an already outstanding series!

If you enjoy thrillers that are gripping without being overly dark, this series is a perfect fit. It’s always fun catching up with familiar faces, and I was happy to see Bloch (always FEARLESS!), Gabriel Lake, Denise, and several other returning characters back in the mix. While this book works as a standalone, the relationships between the characters continue to grow throughout the series, so reading the novels in order makes those moments even more rewarding.

The story is told from multiple points of view, primarily Patrick, Vanessa, and, of course, our favorite con man turned defense attorney, the incredibly clever Eddie Flynn. Since both suspects tell their version of what happened, there are moments where the stories overlap. But don’t let that fool you. The similarities only make the differences more intriguing, and figuring out who’s telling the truth is half the fun.

Will there be an Eddie Flynn #11? I have no idea, but if there is, I’ll be first in line. This series is consistently clever, fast-paced, and ridiculously fun to read. Every new installment is an absolute blast!
