What struck me most about the novel was its engaging narrative structure. By alternating between the perspectives of Vanessa, the ex-wife, and Nellie, the new fiancée, the authors craft a compelling story that keeps readers guessing at every turn. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, another layer of deception was peeled back, revealing even more shocking truths beneath the surface.

The characters themselves are successfully drawn, each with their own flaws and vulnerabilities that make them feel like real people. Vanessa’s desperation and obsession with Nellie are palpable, while Nellie’s innocence and naivety make her a sympathetic figure, despite the ominous warnings from Vanessa.
